'The Brothers' is our first tale back from vacation and it's a love story unlike any told in "Legends of the Rhine" thus far. Although I'm not sure that's such a good thing.
This week we're catching back up with Wilhelm Ruland's "Legends of the Rhine".
"American Fairy Tales" is a collection of stories (sometimes racist and offensive) from the renowned author of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", L Frank Baum.
The Folktale Project is on summer vacation for the month of July, but that doesn't mean there aren't stories to tell. Each Monday I'll be bringing you the full retelling of one of the books we've read, beginning with "Bee: The Princess of the Dwarfs".
'Burg Stahleck' is a tale of a battle between the clergy and a land hungry noble.
'The Blind Archer' is absolutely my favorite story of revenge. I hope you enjoy it as well!
We begin the week with 'The Mouse-Tower', the disturbing tale of a wicked Bishop getting what's coming to him.
'The Toy of the Young Giantess' is a story that should be relatable for every parent out there - the tale of a child finding a marvelous toy that's not a toy at all.
'The Capture of Father Time' is a fun tale that lets us know exactly what kind of mischief a young boy would do if he was able to stop time.
TW: Racism 'The Laughing Hippopotamus' is a story that I struggled with bringing to the podcast because of the casual racism in the description of the Congolese tribesmen. But in the end I think it's important to see how this racism embedded itself in our culture through stories like it.
